Conversion of an Oil-Fired Boiler to Natural Gas

Certain conditions must first be fulfilled if oil-fired boilers are to be converted to operation on natural gas. Substantial differences exist between oil-fired and gas-fired boilers - in the storage, transport and chemical and physical composition of the fuel, in the design of the burner, the mode of combustion and in the composition of the gases produced by the combustion. Before a boiler plant can be converted appropriate investigations should be carried out so that the necessary measures can be taken. Examples of calculations and modifications are given.
