Survey of the State of the Art of Coal Handling During Freezing Weather

This report deals with the state of the art of coal-handling during freezing weather. Many utilities and coal-handling facilities were visited to observe firsthand the methods currently in use and available.nThe problems of the industry have been set forth and a listing of non-chemical means available from various manufacturers to facilitate the handling of coal has been included.nThe report also includes guide lines for handling frozen coal. The guide lines depict typical problems and solutions.nThe authors recognize the need for additional research of this problem and have suggested six possible projects that would be of value to the industry.
