The first Commercial Energy Audit Workbook presented building owners and managers information on how to conduct a brief, but thorough energy audit of their buildings. This follow-up workbook is designed to help building owners and managers further evaluate building energy use. It is a compromise between a sophisticated computer simulation and a brief walk-through audit. Background information explains how and where energy is used in the building. How to compile building data is described. Measures to identify areas of intense energy use in the building are described. Some retrofit measures are listed that are potentially cost effective. Also presented is a method to calculate energy cost savings and rank retrofit measures according to simple payback period. (ERA citation 07:057208)
