摘要

The dependance of the dryout heat flux on the particle diameter has been investigated experimentally for volume- and bottom-heating in the particle diameter range 1 to 16 mm for Freon-113 and water. The experimental data for volume-heating are in agreement with theoretical models assuming turbulent flow, whereas the laminar models overpredict the dryout heat flux in this particle diameter range heavily. For bottom-heating the dryout heat flux shows the same particle diameter dependance as for volume-heating as long as the beds are in packed state, but the absolute values are about a factor of two lower. Beds may dryout at different heat fluxes depending on the state they assume. (ERA citation 08:008135)
