Robust Estimation of Standard Deviation Using Ordered Samples

A robust estimate for the standard deviation of a normal distribution is developed. We choose the contaminated normal distribution as our outlier model and demonstrate the method with two examples representing data from international interlaboratory experiments. (ERA citation 07:059331)
