Thinking Big

摘要

Superconductors have long been used at the nuclear weapons laboratories as very cost-effective computational alternatives to large numbers of nuclear tests. This paper discusses the general characteristics of these supercomputers, gives an example of the environment in which these computers are placed, and indicates what future supercomputers will look like.
