摘要

This Report reviews the work carried out on the development of an automated ultrasonic inspection technique for the detection and sizing of flaws in the threaded-hole region of a PWR reactor pressure vessel (RPV) flange. The work has been taken to the stage of producing a laboratory prototype inspection device operating in conjunction with a computer-based data gathering system. Evaluation of the technique has been carried out on a range of artificial flaws in representative threaded-hole samples. (ERA citation 13:024393)
