Among other possibilities, the Kanai-Tajimi power spectral density enhanced at the higher frequency range is found to be useful for generating ground acceleration time histories that satisfy NRC RG 1.60 requirements. The values of the parameters involved in the spectral density function are recommended for this purpose. Also, a suggestion is made as to in what way the power spectral density requirements can be placed in combination with those of the current NRC RG 1.60 to ensure both the response and power spectrum requirements.
