Finite-Difference Time-Domain (FDTD) electromagnetics codes have been used for many years to predict the electromagnetic pulse (EMP) and electromagnetic radiation (EMR) response of systems of low to moderate complexity. Rarely, or perhaps never, have these predictions included the calculation of the response of internal circuitry ''In-Line'' with the calculation of the external response of the system. This paper describes a technique to combine an FDTD code with a transient circuit analysis code so that coupling to circuit elements and/or IC pins can be computed directly. This allows the response of internal circuitry to be computed without resorting to a solution involving several steps utilizing different analysis methods. 3 refs., 7 figs.
