Studies of the Homogenization of Structurally Viscous and Viscoelastic Liquids in Stirring Containers.

This report briefly reviews homogenization processes in stirring reactors for viscous and viscoelastic liquids. Until now a detailed description of the processes occurring in non-Newtonian fluids has been missing. For stirring devices which are ordinarily used in the laminar-turbulent transition range the mixing time characteristics were determined for Newtonian glucose and non-Newtonian CMC and PAA solutions. 4 refs.
