Q-Switched, Intracavity Doubled Nd:YAG Laser Side-Pumped by a Laser Diode Array

An intracavity-doubled, Q-switched, Nd:YAG laser side pumped by a pulsed, 3-bar, laser-diode array, produced a second harmonic output of 1.75 mJ/pulse at an optical conversion efficiency of 11.5%. We demonstrated the use of this laser to pump a pulsed dye laser via an optical fiber. 4 refs., 5 figs. (ERA citation 14:015667)
