摘要

The purpose of the Geochemical Sensitivity Analysis Project is to develop a methodology to identify physiocochemical and hydrogeological conditions wherein use of a simple retardation factor will lead to underestimation or overly conservative estimation of the cumulative radionuclide discharge over the 10,000-year regulatory period. The report describes activities from the initiation of the Geochemical Sensitivity Analysis project in April 1984 to September 30, 1985. During the first phase of the project, compilation of necessary geochemical data was started, radionuclide transport codes were evaluated and parametric methods to assess the significance of matrix diffusion, colloidal transport and reaction kinetics on integrated radionuclide discharge from high-level waste repositories were developed.
