摘要

This report documents the research and development work conducted by the Materials Research and Production Group of the LLNL ICF Program's Special Projects Group between 1985 and 1989. A foam material composed of heavily cross linked polystyrene-divinylbenzene was prepared from an inverse emulsion of the monomers in water. Final foam densities as low as 25mg/cm(sup 3) were obtained; cell sizes were not greater than 2 to 3 (mu)m. This report documents procedures and characterization of the final material.
