This cost-benefit study was conducted to determine the ratio of costs to benefitsfor creating an information system to monitor the utilization of diagnostic ancillary and pharmacy services. The study consisted of three parts. The first part was to determine the cost of the system. The second part of the study was to determine the potential benefits of the system. The third part of the study was to determine whether there were any effective alternatives to purchasing the information system.
