Critical Poverty and Marginality in Latin America: Security and Defense Problemsfor the Latin American Countries in the Near Future

In the last fifteen years, the quality of life in Latin American countries hasdeteriorated drastically, observing in almost all the countries a decline in real salaries, because of an elevated rate of inflation and an increase in unemployment. The social outlook in Latin America is presently dark and many people are affected because of multiple unfulfilled needs. Society cannot guarantee the Latin America people rights considered today as fundamental human rights, like the right to stable employment. This paper outlines a brief analysis of how poverty affects Latin American countries, socially, economically, and politically, and the impact of these factors on various aspects of defense and security of these Latin American countries.
