The study is structured as follows: firstly, the author investigates the basic notions and assertions of liberal peace, which he believes is grounded in empiricism. Subsequently, he describes the mechanisms of transmission, whereby such peace can be achieved, come into focus. These include the heightened costs of war, socio-economic development, and empirical relevance to the democracy-development hypotheses. The next section contains objections and problems to the summarized strategy in the first section, including the approach of economic rationality and inner political, psychological, and socio-cultural frictions. A formulation for 'liberal calculus' is then is then produced. The last section then involves problems in method and in the detail of empirical evidence.
