This short discussion paper prepares a justification and objectification of the 'Oil Crisis of 2000', insofar as it affected most of Europe and the United States, taking into account the individual country's reaction and problem-solving technique. Emphasis is placed upon a pithy representation of the international political economy's reality as cause of the current price explosion in petroleum products, which requires, a differentiated approach. The author furthermore makes explicit that he is not concerned with the sense or senselessness in the ecology-supporting tax levies, which must be dealt with in a separate study.
