Manning the Future Force

The world is changing and the Army is responding to these changes and positioning itself for the challenges of the future strategic environment. The Future Force will be very different from the Army of today. New equipment technologies and tactics will require soldiers with different skill sets than those of today's soldiers. New soldiers in the Future Force will be recruited from the generation of Americans referred to as the Millennials those born in 1982 and later. How will the aptitudes and attributes of the Millennial generation mesh with the human resource requirements of the Future Force. Is there a delta between these aptitudes and attributes of the Millennials and the human resource requirements of the Future Force. If so how can the Army close that gap. The Army's success in recruiting and integrating the Millennial generation into the Army of the future will ultimately determine the success of transformation and the success of the Army in the emerging strategic environment. Who are these Millennials and will they measure up. The future of our Army depends upon it.
