A PHOTOGRAPHIC STUDY OF THE PLOW WITHIN THE VANE PASSAGES OF A CENTRIFUGAL PUMP IMPELLER AT NORMAL DELIVERY

This report describes some preliminary investigations, by photographic methods, of the flow within the vane passages of a full size transparent model of a commercial 6 inch centrifugal pump impeller. Records of the absolute flow paths at normal delivery were obtained using a stationary camera and records of the relative flow paths were obtained by means of a camera rotating with the impeller shaft.
