In this report an account is given of the model tests which have been carried out by the B.H.R'.A. to assist in the design and to demonstrate the functioning of the tower to the .parties concerned.nTryweryn Reservoir is being used to regulate the flow in the river Dee by controlling the level of Lake Bala and supplementing its storage capacity. Water drawn from Tryweryn Reservoir through the draw-off tower passes through a 1 100 feet long,66" diameter steel main to a small power station, having a small turbine-generator set running on the compensation water flow of 7 to 14 m.g.d. (13 to 26 cusecs), and a 3 MW set capable of passing the normal maximum draw-off of 180 m.g.d. (335 cusecs), operating at a head in the order of 150 feet.
