EXTRACTION OF IONS FROM PLASMA ION SOURCES AND PRIMARY FORMING OF IONIC BUNDLES

In the development and improvement of plasma ion sources (i.s.) two main physicotechnical problems appear. The first consists in detecting rational ways of forming plasma with necessary concentration of ions at maximum degree of ionization of the gaseous medium;its. successful solution depends on the con¬struction of a proper i.s. Second problem — finding methods for the fullest use of the ions formed in the form of a beam with given energy, at the maximum ratio of flow of extracted ions to flow of outgoing atoms.
