Concrete surface blemishes A classification of the surface defects and some particular influences of formwork linings, release agents and concrete pressure on the appearance of concrete finishes

The increasing use of exposed concrete finishes in recent years has focused attention on the need to reduce the occurrence of the more common surface blemishes. This report gives an account of investigations undertaken at the Research Station and on sites throughout the country into discoloration and physical irregularities on concrete finishes.nThe more common blemishes are classified, together with a suggested glossary of terms;it is hoped that the adoption of these terms will dispel much of the confusion in nomenclature that exists at present.
