A New Strain Gauge Bridge for Measuring Alternating Loads

A strain gauge bridge is described having two independent balancing controls and a display showing the output from both controls and zero output. A null balance may be obtained at both the tension and compression peaks of an alternating load waveform and both may be monitored continuously on the display. The setting of the balance controls is directly related to the change of resistance of the strain gauges and may be calibrated in terms of load. (Author)
