An Instrument for Electrocardiographic Area Measurements

An instrument which was developed to measure the area of electrocardiographic deflections is described. Basically, the instrument is a special purpose analog computer that performs the mathematical operation of integration on three input signals. Synchronizing circuits have been added to start the period of integration at a predetermined time in the cardiac cycle. This instrument is an essential component in a system used to quantitate the ECG changes that occur after exercise. (Author)
