CONSIDERATIONS ON ANALYSIS OF ATMOSPHERIC STRUCTURE DATA WITH EMPHASIS ON THE COMPUTATION OF THE ANGULAR DISTANCE FROM THE SUB-SOLAR POINT

This report represents the initial work on a study program toncollect and analyze atmospheric structure data. The initial work includes only density experiments above 80 km as obtained by the 35 rocket flights given in the' Appendix of this paper. No grenade experiments were included and no satellite data were considered. The prime purpose of this report is not to present the density data itself but instead to provide the tools and information useful in analyzing and interpreting the data.
