THEORY AND METHODS OF MATHEMATICAL SIMULATION

The 33 reports presented were thematically grouped as follows:the use of computers (analogue and digital) for solving the problem of optimum control and arrangement of appropriate systems; the application of computers to self-adjusting control systems; digital simulation, including analysis and arrangement of algorithms; a synthesis of the assembly of digital units and practical problems dealing with the assembly of digital differential analyzers; and separate digital units; new methods of assembling analogue feedback elements and their control; and finally, general questions dealing with solutions of the problems and evaluation of errors of the analogue computers.nA new series of ideas were formulated and new methods of simulation were proposed in the course of discussions. Among these were the assembly of feedback elements in electronic amplifiers and the clarifi¬cation of a number of problems dealing with their control, resolved by their operation. In particular, a control system that would have an inverse or a quasi-inverse simulation objective was proposed. It was determined that this would achieve an independency between control values and discords, permitting the feedback system to be locked by amplifiers with a considerable amplification factor.
