The effects of pyridine-2-aldoxime methochloride (PAMC1) and l,l'-tri-ethylene-bits (4-formyl-pyridinium bromide) dioxide (TMB-4) on neuromuscular transmission in the isolated rat-princi-nerve diaphragm preparation were studied in the absence of organophosphate anticholinesterases. Both PAMC1 and TMB-4 antagonized the initial neuromuscular block resulting from addition of depolarizing agents. After prolonged exposure to the latter, the addition of PAMC1 and TMB-4 increased the block Ln a manner similar to that of d-tubocurarine. Tetraethyl ammonium (TEA) antagonized the depression of response to indirect stimulation following addition of PAMC1.
