摘要

An approach to the selection of radiation sources for military applications is presented. A logical breakdown of the various types of discharge sources and a list of parameters to be considered are given. As an example,an analytical and experimental study of the fully developed,laminar flow,argon electric arc discharge is included. A description of the arc facility and the diagnostic techniques used are presented. The analytical results are compared with experimental results. (Author)
