A study was initiated on freezing of Polyvinylpyrrolidone aqueous solutions as a function of polymer concentration and temperature. This resulted in a publication entitled: 'Freezing of Aqueous Polyvinylpyrrolidone Solutions.' Degradation of aqueous polyvinylpyrrolidone by freezing was investigated: 'Degradation of Polymers in Solution by Freezing.' Also adsorption isotherms of water/polymer systems were studied: Isosteric heats and entropies of adsorption were evaluated: 'Sorbed Water on Polymers Near 0C.' Research with the object of clarifying the mechanism of protection of blood cells by freezing in presence of polyvinylpyrrolidone were also carried out (see previous reports). (Author)
