An Improved Manufacturing Process for the Production of Higher Purity Superalloy Powers.

摘要

The program was initiated to provide an improved technology for the economical production of -40mesh superalloy powders with a lower oxygen and impurity content than was currently commercially available. Phase II of the program includes a scaling-up of the process to produce 300-pound production heats,an evaluation to determine the best way to fabricate the powders into preforms which are 93% of theoretical density,and the fabrication of preforms for hot working using the most favorable consolidation process.
