The goals of the contract were to integrate a multivariable testing machine and a small digital computer and to carry out research on:Interfacing of computer and testing equipment;Developing fundamental procedures for the automatic control of material testing;Creating man-machine interactions programs for the testing environment;and,Applying such man-machine techniques to perform materials research useful in the analysis of deformation and strength response of anisotropic solids.
