Vehicle Winterization Heating Kits with Intermittent Combustion Heaters.

Winterization heating kits were developed for three military tactical wheeled vehicles. The heater use is commercially available from a foreign manufacturer. The heater is an intermittent combustion type,while current standard U. S. Army heating kits used continuous combustion heaters. One basic heater is used with several different heat exchangers for all vehicle heating requirements. The heater is also capable of portable self-contained operation. The heater requires no electric power when operating. Tests were conducted in a cold chamber,and in Alaska. (Modified author abstract)
