Applications of Laser Interferometry in Precision Measurements.

Present methods and equipment for obtaining precision measurement of lengths exceeding 20 or so inches do not provide the required degree of accuracy, repeatability or portability to meet current needs. Inspection methods incorporating the laser interferometer calibration system will provide means of calibrating numerically controlled machines, coordinate measuring machines and long lengths with a high degree of accuracy and confidence.
