Synthesis and Secretion of Alpha-2-Macroglobin by Cultured Human Fibroblasts.

摘要

Alpha2-macroglobulin is a major plasma protein and functions as an inhibitor of a wide variety of proteolytic enzymes. In the present paper, experiments are described indicating that cultured human fibroblasts synthesize and secrete alpha2-macroglobulin. This finding may be important for studies of the role of proteases in fibroblast growth and function, both in vitro and in vivo. (Author)
