A Psychological Aspect of Communist Ideology and its Relationship to Political Control in the Soviet Armed Forces.

The author studies the psychological effects of Communist ideology and observes them in relationship to political control in the Soviet Armed Forces. Basic ideological principles are identified in this totalitarian type political system. The Armed Forces are considered a reflection of society where perpetuating organs continue to foster ideological concepts. Measures for influencing attitudes are shown to contribute toward discipline. Shortcomings in individual servicemen may provide a potential for limited control problems, but the author believes that the means for enforcing ideology will ensure the continuance of political control in the Soviet Armed Forces.
