摘要

The effects of hyperbaric oxygen tensions on the oxygen consumption and succinate dehydrogenase (SDH) activity of mouse liver were investigated. Mouse liver homogenate exposed to a P(02) of 3837.8 mm Hg for 30 minutes showed a 50.6% reduction in oxygen consumption compared to controls exposed to nitrogen at ambient pressure. The SDH activity of mouse liver was significantly reduced after a 3 hour exposure to a P(02) of 3796 mm Hg. The effect of glutathione as a protective agent against oxygen toxicity was also examined. Liver pretreated with reduced glutathione and exposed to high oxygen tensions demonstrated greater activity than untreated controls. Oxidized glutathione protected SDH against hyperbaric oxygen toxicity.
