LEADER MATCH IV is a programmed instruction manual developed for the U.S. Army based on the Contingency Model of Leadership Effectiveness. The contingency model shows that the performance and success of a group or organization is contingent or dependent not only upon the leader's personality but also on the situation in which he must operate. LEADER MATCH IV has been evaluated in civilian and Army settings; leaders trained by this method performed more effectively than comparable untrained leaders. (Author)
