This report demonstrates the impact of the psychological, sociological and physical stress of various military activities and associated transitional periods as expressed by physical illness and outpatient sickcall visits. The outpatient sickcall rates of combat soldiers in 17 airborne companies were measured before, during, and after specified activities, Large variations of the rates were observed to be due to military duties.
