Error Models for Stable Hybrid Adaptive Systems. Part II.

The paper presents a unified approach to the design of stable adaptive algorithms for hybrid, discrete and continuous systems which have two time scales. Hybrid error models are first analyzed in detail using two distinct approaches and the results are extended to discrete systems in which the parameters are adjusted at rates slower than those at which the systems operate. The algorithms developed when applied to the adaptive control problem are shown to result in global stability. Simulation results are included and reveal the dependence of the convergence rates of the various algorithms on the two time-scales.
