摘要

Electrical contact between a copper plated steel specimen and brushes of graphite and copper through a film of gallium alloy were investigated. Material compatibility phase changes were studied. Techniques of film renewal were tested as were results in inert atmosphere. Two testing machines were developed for both visual observation and long duration high current testing with computer monitoring and control. Keywords include: Current collectors, gallium, homopolar devices, and liquid metals.
