Research on Intelligent Fault Detection and Repair Advisory Systems

摘要

During the grant extension period, all of the original objectives of the proposedresearch were met (where objective number 3 was modified early in the original grant period involved in the study of models of diagnostic belief rather than models based upon constraint propagation). The Adaptive Heuristic Reasoner system provides a consistent knowledge representation paradigm based upon flexible associative network constructions which maximize the use of domain specific terminology (objective one). All internal knowledge is consistently represented in belief function form (objective four), a form which supersedes rules in expressiveness yet which externally retains the flavor of if-then constructs.
