This is Volume I of a two-volume manual on the Wetland Evaluation Technique.Volume I provides a detailed review of 11 functions and values commonly ascribed to wetlands, including ground water recharge and discharge, floodflow alteration, sediment stabilization, sediment/toxicant retention, nutrient removal/ transformation, production export, aquatic diversity/abundance, wildlife diversity/abundance, recreation, and uniqueness/heritage.
