The purpose of the Best Manufacturing Practices (BMP) survey conducted at the Digital Equipment Corporation (DEC) in Westfield, Massachusetts and Maynard, Massachusetts was to identify best practice, review manufacturing problems, and document the results. The intent is to extend the use of progressive management techniques as well as high technology equipment and processes throughout industry and government facilities.
