America in the Third World: Strategic Alternatives and Military Implications.

摘要

The author examines the problems of the Third World and the debates that exist regarding the most effective U.S. response to these problems. He concludes that the Third World is undergoing such significant changes that most of the basic assumptions of past and present U.S. policy are no longer viable. The author urges a fundamental revision of the concept of security underlying our national strategy, and a more selective and discrete involvement in the Third World.
