This technical note provides recommendations for methods of handling less thandetection limit data to permit statistical comparisons of sediment contaminant or bioaccumulation samples in dredged sediment evaluations. Ten censored data methods are evaluated; performance depends upon data characteristics such as equality of variances, type of frequency distribution, and the proportion of the data that is below detection limit.
