Three bio-pesticides (N. rileyi @ 2.0 kg/ha B. bassiana @ 2.0 kg/ha, SNPV @ 450 LE/ha), two chemical insecticides (Rynaxypyr 0.006 per cent, Novaluron 0.01 per cent) and six combinations (N. rileyi @ 1.0 kg/ha + Rynaxypyr 0.003 per cent, B. bassiana @1.0 kg/ha + Rynaxypyr 0.003 per cent, SNPV @ 225 LE/ha + Rynaxypyr 0.003 per cent, N. rileyi @ 1.0 kg/ha + Novaluron 0.005 per cent, B. bassiana @ 1.0 kg/ha + Novaluron 0.005 per cent, SNPV @ 225 LE/ha + Novaluron 0.005 per cent) of both were evaluatedagainst S. litura infesting the soybean under field condition during Kharif, 2010-11. The result showed that the chemical insecticides casued higher mortality of the pest compared to bio-pesticides and combinations. Among the insecticidal treatments, rynaxypyr 0.006 per cent was found top most effective against S. litura infesting the soybean. Novaluron 0.01 per cent was found as a next best treatment. The combinations of bio-pesticides along with chemical insecticides were found effective as they caused moderate to higher mortality. Bio-pesticides alone were found least effective against this pest.
