Fashion is inherently wasteful, and in recent years the rate of change has accelerated so much that we now live in a disposable society. Consequently, the faster the change the greater the waste, which is frequently laden with chemicals. Thus, our environment has become the ultimate fashion victim. The fashion industry is recognised as one of the most polluting and exploitative industries with evidence linking the rise of certain human health problems and the increase in our exposure to many synthetic chemicals.
