Different sides of the same coin?

Given Europe's emphasis on environmental containment and security of energy supply,a slowdown in the growth of gas as the undisputed cleanest-burning fossil fuel seems highly undesired.However,security of supply or,conversely,security of demand,does not come through desire alone.It requires careful orchestration from both suppliers and customers.Failure to do this will marginalise the role of gas in Europe.The high oil price environment and the focus on greenhouse gas emissions commands new responses today.Suppliers,customers and governments had better speed up their moves if they take the future role of gas in Europe seriously.
