Charles Darwin is sometimes quoted (some say misquoted) as having said that: 'In the long history of humankind (and animal kind, too) those who learned to collaborate and improvise most effectively have prevailed.' Whether this is truly attributable to Darwin or another, it certainly has a resonance with the work of the Energy Institute (EI), and in particular the activities undertaken through its technical programme. The ethos which very much underpins the work of the technical committees is that of collaboration, with technical partners of the EI working together, collectively, to address common issues.
