Chevron secures sour gas field deal

Chevron is understood to have been awarded the rights to help develop PetroChina's Luojiazhai sour gas field in China's Sichuan province.Luojiazhai has proved reserves of 58.11bn cm and a sulphur content of between 7.13% and 10.49%.The field's location close to densely populated areas is thought to have previously put off potential bidders,leading PetroChina to widen the tender to include the Tieshanpo and Dukouhe gas fields,which have combined reserves of 73.30bn cm and sulphur contents of 14.19% and 15.27% respectively.
